Privacy Policy
What this website does with your information, which by design is almost nothing.
This policy covers https://dumanbbq.co.uk. It does not cover our booking system or our ordering site, which are run by other companies and have their own policies. Both are named below.
Who we are

What this website collects
Nothing that identifies you. There are no accounts, no contact form and no comments. The site is a set of static files: there is no database behind it and no server-side code that could store what you do.
Our host keeps standard web server logs, as every web server does, to serve pages and to spot abuse. Those record an IP address, the page requested, the time and the browser’s user agent.
Cookies
We set no cookies of our own and store nothing in your browser under our name. The cookies you may pick up here are Google’s, from the map on the home and contact pages. See the cookie policy for the detail.
Analytics
If site analytics are switched on, we use Plausible, which counts visits without cookies and without collecting personal data or tracking anyone between sites. It is aggregate only, so we can see that a page was read, never who read it.
Third parties
These are the only outside services a page here can involve, and what each one receives:
- Dojo, Table reservations
- Our booking button opens Dojo's own booking page. The name, phone number and email you enter there go to Dojo and to us, and are used to hold and confirm your table. Dojo's privacy notice applies once you are on their page.
- Our ordering site, Online orders
- Ordering happens on order.dumanbbq.co.uk, a separate system. Anything you enter there, including your name, address, phone number and payment, is handled by that platform rather than by this website.
- Google Maps, The maps on the home and contact pages
- The map loads with the page, so opening either one gives Google your IP address and lets it set its own cookies. We do not receive anything from it.
- WhatsApp, The chat button
- Pressing it opens WhatsApp with our number. The conversation happens in WhatsApp, under Meta's terms, not on this site.
- Google Fonts, Typefaces
- None. The fonts are downloaded at build time and served from this site's own domain, so your browser makes no request to Google to read a page.
Booking and ordering
When you book a table or place an order, we receive the details you gave, typically a name, a phone number and what you asked for, and use them only to serve you. We do not sell them, and we do not use them for marketing unless you have asked us to.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, and object to how we use it. Email info@dumanbbq.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version replaces this page. There is no archive of earlier versions.
